I go back to work at 12 weeks (DS is 4 weeks right now) and I'm nervous about having to take him to daycare by myself. We live on a 3rd floor walk up and I'm just imagining having to get him downstairs in his carseat with a diaper bag and a purse. Then having to drive to the daycare (which is not even far - maybe like 2 miles) with LO fussing or crying in the back. I know it's just a matter of getting used to it but I'm scared. I think I'll have to practice with DH ahead of time to calm my fears.

Yes, the first time I drove with her I was totally freaked. I drove about 5 miles an hour, kept checking the mirror, (ok, I still do that lol) and when she went to purple (the lovely purple crying when they're super upset) I had to pull over as well. By the time I got the car off she had settled back down. She's 6 weeks today and I'm much more confident. You will be too!

I'm pretty nervous about it too, but I have a pretty long commute to work and it is all interstates. I like the idea about the mirror though, I never thought of that!

I'll love you forever Baby Speck
I promise, it gets easier and easier. It's a piece of cake for us now.
If it makes life easier - put as much as you can in the car the night before so that you only have to carry LO, your purse, and his formula/BM for the day out in the morning.
I have a big reusable tote that I throw my purse, lunch, and a small bag with his bottles in so that I can have that on one shoulder and him in the other hand.
As far as fussing, does your LO not like the car? Our guy fusses sometimes but most of the time is content and falls asleep.
