I watched it and made my husband watch it too. We laughed a little. I cried each time a baby was born. The last people had me so much by the end that I was just glad that the baby was out safely.

I DVRed it. I've been going to bed at 7:30 or 8p so there was no way I was staying up till 10 to watch. I'm REALLY excited because that's my hospital and my doctor will likely be shown I LOVE Riverside. I had my myomectomy there 2 years ago and loved the hospital and staff. It was an easy choice for L&D.
BFP on 1/27/11 - EDD 10/7/11 - M/C on 2/21/11 @ 7w3d
BFP on 11/3/11 - EDD 07/6/12 - DD born 6/27/12 via c-section
I taped it & watched it this morning. I thought it was alright. I wouldn't be a show I would 'have' to watch every week but if I remember to watch/tape it, great!
As for the crunchy/hippie couple - I was somewhat annoyed. How does laying on your side interfere? oh well, glad it was a happy ending on all accounts.
I was annoyed that all the births were inductions, and didn't love the way they portrayed natural birth (not everyone wanting a natural birth is crazypants like they were! ), and the c/s scene (the decision and the prep) hit very close to home and made me cry... but all in all I liked it. I found it much more true to life than A Baby Story or the like.
i will watch when I get home. It sounds like mixed reviews so far. DH and i have been laughing at the previews for the past month so I'm looking forward to it and hoping not to be disappointed

The lady who ended up with a c-section was not on pitocin at all and the other 2 moms weren't induced, they were augmented with the med.

I watched it, I really enjoyed it. The borthplan couple completely annoyed me. I think they needed some flexibilty and what was up with dh and the showers all the time. That poor nurse! The show did a good job of portraying diff types of labor. I do agree with pp that not all natural birth ppl are that off.

None of the moms came in to the hospital in active labor.
em - i was just commenting that maybe they wanted to show three very different inductions side by side to show the differences. I'll be interested to see what next week's is like to see if they show women coming in already in active labor.
