crib/bassinet question

so i dont really know what to do with this. do you have to use a bassinet for the first few weeks while LO is really little? does just a crib work? are there risks or dangers if they are just in a crib with so much room? i have such a small house and i dont want to get a bassinet if i dont have to because i dont know where to put it but ill make room if it is a danger. sorry if this seems like a dumb question but i really just dont know. thank you everyone for your advice.

    The reason most people use a bassinet is because bassinets are far smaller than cribs, and therefore easier to put into the parents' room.  Having the kid in the parents' room makes the first months of late-night feedings way more bearable, especially if the kid's room/crib is on the opposite side of the house.  Having the kid in the room is also supposed to decrease the incidence of SIDS deaths.

    It's not like it's dangerous or anything to have the kid in a crib per se, it's just way less convenient for most parents.

    o ok. our room is so small that i have a bed in the baby room for that so ill be sleeping in there for a while. ok thank you.
