Those that have a bed on the floor for LO.

What size mattress do you have? Dylan's new room is pretty small and we tried out the mattress on the floor last weekend and it seemed to work better than anything else. We have been bed sharing since birth but he's starting to wake when we go to bed and anytime we move. Right now we have our old full and it takes up half the width of his room but I know he would roll right off his crib mattress.

  • We have a full size in his room.

  • We started with a queen because that's what we had in our guest room, but we quickly replaced it with a full due to the size constraints. It does take up a lot of her room, but it was important to me that one of us would be able to lay with her if/when needed. She has other spaces in the house for play and exploration, so I don't feel like the bigger bed is robbing anything from her in that regard.
  • DS has his crib mattress on the floor. It works just fine. He has only rolled off once; we propped the top up too much when he had a cold! Heh, oops!

Anyway, we're keeping that for a while as the base for his single bed has drawers underneath so it's too high right now.

  • The crib mattress.

BUT I think it is about time to ungrade to a full.

This! It fits into this little nook in her room almost perfectly, and it's big enough that we can lay with her/she won't roll off too easily, but not so big that the glider/dresser/etc won't fit.

I think I may have to find out the measurements because his room is really small and I don't have much space to walk around really.
