Anyone buy bananas from Costco?

DH bought them 12 days ago. They weren't ripe. Today, they look exactly the same. Still not ripe. They're green and hard as a rock.

It's become sort of a funny experiment now. Today I tried to open one up and it doesn't even peel. I've gone through 2 other (grocery store bought) bunches while waiting for these suckers to ripen.

How weird!

did you check the inside? I bought unripe bananas before and they never changed color but the inside was ripe. (weird) Also, if you put unripen bananas in brown paper bag for couple days it turn yellow.

I haven't had good experience with Costco's bananas but DH bought them because they're cheap. Never again. They usually take forever to ripen then, overnight, they all of a sudden are over ripe. This is even more weird though. I had to cut the peel off of them. They're still rock hard on the inside. I wonder if these were frozen or something?

We had bad luck with wholesale club bananas so we don't buy them there anymore. I think they are freezing them because they go from being GREEN for over a week to way overripe in like 2 days.

Boot Costco, but SAMs and it's pretty much the same thing. We won't buy them from there anymore no matter how cheap they are.

We buy from Costco and Sam's haven't had the eternal green thing but have had them go from green to bad in just a few days

We actually have learned to like these bananas from Costco. We buy two bunches and put one bunch in a brown bag with a couple of tomatoes,close it tight, and they turn yellow in a few days. Also, for whatever reason, they seem to also ripen when left on top of our microwave but no where else....very strange.
