Sailor - boy or girl?

I really like the name Sailor. DH likes it for a boy, I like it for a girl.

Do you think Sailor is a boy name or girl name? Your opinions on the name?

Girl. When I worked at a daycare a little girl in my class was named Sailor...Everyone ALWAYS made fun of her name and asked wtf were her parents thinking....

Friends of mine named their daughter Sailor. It took a while, but it has grown on me. Because I know a female Sailor, I definitely think girl.

Sailor is a girl's name. It's different and nms.

Though Sailor Moon is my favorite show ever Embarrassed ....I wouldn't name my daughter that. Cute pet name though

Honey, umm Sailor is an occupation not a name. However if you use it I would say that it a girl's name. I would not use it.

WEIRD! i thought i was the only one who liked this name! i would have to grow a really big set to actually use this name, but i really like it!

funny enough, i hadn't decided if it was a boy or girl name either... although Christie Brinkley named her daughter Sailor Leigh...

Wrong, I know, but I have a hard time taking someone seriously when they have a silly, childish sounding name. Sailor falls into that category.

i've only heard it on girls and i would definitely be afraid to use it on a boy as it's more common for girls.

here are the 2009 stats for girls, boys:

sailor- 83, 12

saylor- 191, 9
