For me: Books. Im looking for a really good book that explains milestones & where LO is suported to be and what i should be exspecting. What to exspect doesnt really go into much detail, and everyday i ask myself "is he to far behind"
For baby: gift cards for formula or diapers. Thats really all i think about all day- formula and diapers. Maybe some cute toys that rattle or make noise, but LO still isnt stimulated by those yet.
Lets see... Me: A gift certificate for a manicure, bath and body works bubble bath/lotion, some chocolate, and a book or two. (If you want a baby book, Baby 411 is pretty good!)
Baby: diapers coupons, baby socks, a mesh laundry bag (for the socks, lol), diaper rash cream, mylicon, tylenol, and maybe a rattle.

I don't know. Most of the things I'd most want right now don't fit well into a gift basket.
Me: Babysitting offers; or gift certificate to spa or dinner, along with free babysitting! Gift certificate alone doesn't cut it for us right now. Stuff for a free dinner, i.e. gift card or homemade food gifts (no fancy chocolates, I'm talking like pans of lasagna for the family).
Baby: we have so much stuff from #1 and now #2 also that we don't need much. Gift cards; diapers, but they have to be the right kind (we use Pampers). Toys/books are great but they would have to know what we already have. high-end baby bath products, maybe? Super cute outfit always good (i.e. not the usual brands but something special??)
GC for food, I'm always so tired by the time dinner time hits. I hate cooking now ): some cozy pjs! books or B&N gift card since I have a nook. It's nice to read while I nurse, makes it less boring for me. a maid! Haha but that's just me dreaming.
for baby-maybe some zip down the middle sleepers. Books. One of those white nose stuffed toys that I hear work like magic! And diapers are always welcome! Lol

I bought this book. I really like it. Tells you each week where baby might be at developmentally. Has suggestions for ways to help baby develop various skills. Has advice & articles on a different topic each week as well.
For me: a nice bottle of Merlot, a Dove Chocolate Bar and enough money so that I don't have to go back to work! (Of course the third one is me being silly)
For Baby: Extra onesies and some socks that stay on.
Me: book and/or magazine, gift card to a restaurant or for a massage, some nice coffee or tea, something for a bath (salts, bubbles, etc), some little food items perhaps.
Baby: Small toys (rattles etc), bibs, socks, maybe a book or two, bathtime stuff (lotion, bubbles, etc).
I guess technically now I should be SecondBabyMomma
for me I would want "pampering" type things.. mani/pedi gift certificate, chocolate, wine, free babysitting.. for LO I would want more practical things because those are the things that aren't fun to buy.. things like diapers, burp cloths, or just a gift card to a baby store.
