I've been getting braxton hicks since 18 wks with this baby and they've been getting worse and worse---yesterday was pretty bad. Today started out good but this afternoon started getting them pretty good and this evening was getting some pain with it and the baby literally hasn't stopped moving for HOURS. Now it's dancing on my cervix--I feel like he/she is going to be coming out any minute! Totally TMI but it seems like ever since I had a pretty 'rough' bowel movement (was having some constipation issues)--is when this really got bad. But that was hours ago.
If it were any other night I'd be at the hospital, but we're in the middle of the big blizzard--I can't even see my neighbors house, so there's no way I could drive in this. I've been trying to rest as much as I can (with a 2.5 yr old), trying to lay on my left side (and right), drinking plenty of water, took some magnesium/calcium and zinc.
Any other ideas???? I know this is controversial, but has anyone tried red wine to help ease BH???
I'm thinking if I went to the hospital that they'd definitely put me on meds to stop these things. I was getting pain in the abdomen about every couple of minutes but it only lasted about 15 minutes or so. I'm really freaking now...... of all nights....a blizzard.
Re: I think I'm in preterm labor...... any ideas???
Ditto the ambulance.
If you deliver, your baby has a fighting chance... in an NICU. Not in your house. Take care of yourself and your baby.

I know---it's horrible out there. Otherwise I'd just go to L&D to be checked---but there's no way. There are no cars out there--not even snow plows--it's weird. Heck, the 50 mph winds alone would knock me off the road LOL. I wouldn't say anything is regular---- and except for the pelvic pressure, no pain right now. DS is asleep now so I'm just going to relax and drink as much as I can--although I think the baby is on my bladder b/c I'm literally peeing every few minutes.
This so sucks!

Notes:
I am in the blizzard too so I know why you aren't on the way to the hospital. Call your office NOW and find out what they say. If you are really in labor and need to go to the hospital they will probably have you call 911 - an ambulance may take awhile but will be the safest way to get there tonight.
Is your toddler in bed now? I hope rest and fluids will help...I am so sorry it is tonight of all nights. DS woke from nap burning up and I was freaking out with the same thought, "how do I get him to the hospital if I need to in this?". Luckily, after meds and fluids and bath his temp came down. I will hope you get as lucky!
Call your doctor. We're in the storm too. See what they say.
My baby was born at 26 weeks. Don't chance a premature birth.
p.s. I was taken to the hospital at 24 weeks via ambulance. If this is an emergency (again, call someone who can tell you what to do), there are options.
Ditto this. Your nonchalance frightens ME. I went into preterm labor and delivered my babies at 23 weeks. I had NO idea I was in labor until I got to the hospital and they told me I was 100% effaced and had no cervix left. I just thought I was having some cramping (and bleeding, but didn't equate the bleeding with labor, thought there was something going on but labor never occurred to me). There wasn't pain until I was in SERIOUS labor (like, contractions 2 - 3 minutes apart). And pressure can also be a sign. Please call your doctor's office immediately. If you are in labor you should get to a hospital ASAP, I know the roads are bad but as pps said an ambulance can come get you if necessary.
no pain here either when I was admitted.
I'm sorry HappyKlamb.
I'm sending my t&p your way! Keep us updated.

Glad I'm not the only one thinking this. Seriously ...
