Elise went through a growth spurt at 3 months (or at least what I thought was a growth spurt) and then started taking in more ounces of formula. She had been on 6 feedings of about 5 oz for almost 6 weeks. Then, last week, she switched it up to about 5 feedings of 6 or 7 oz (about every 3 hours) and slept from 8 to about 7 a.m. The 7 oz feedings were mostly at night and in the morning. I figured this would be her new pattern now that she's over 3 months.
But.... for the past couple of nights, she's been waking around 3 a.m. for an ADDITIONAL feeding of 6 or 7 oz. Do you think this is just another growth spurt or is she just really, really hungry, lol? I'm going to wait it out and see what happens this week, but is it okay for her to drink more than 35 oz in one day? I'm a little concerned that we might be overfeeding her.

Not sure if this will help, but we are doing this w/ the boys now. We are trying to wean them off the 4am feeding.
We have upped their bottles to 6oz, and are eating most of it each time (Alex more than Mikey). We feed them at 7pm, then again at 10pm, and when they wake for 4am, we have given them less and less (are down to 3oz tonight). Hopefully they know to eat it all at 10pmish, and again at 7amish.

This is what worked for Spencer when he started to wake up again after STTN: the only way to get him to stop waking up for another bottle in the middle of the night, was to not give him one. This was the rec from the pedi. If the baby knows that another bottle will come if she wakes up, then she will wake up.
This worked for us...hope it helps!

Elise is really serious about her milk! She throughs a fit when she accidentally knocks the bottle out of her mouth, lol.
I just read that babies can eat up to 2.5 times their body weight so I guess she's drinking a normal amount for her.
