with each other, no kids to a movie/restaurant/etc.... DH and I have not been on a date since N was born. Yeah, I know, not good...probably why we're at each other's throats now. There's still a lot of friction in my house....but that's all for another post and another day. So I was wondering how many times do you and your SO make time for each other/go out on a date.

Re: How many times do you and your SO go out on dates?
Since Thomas has been born, hmmm...maybe 2 or 3 times. We have season tickets to the symphony so those dates are set; so we'll do dinner before the symphony. However, its been so cold lately, we've been giving the tickets away.
We snuck out two weeks ago after a parent meeting for Kindergarten for dinner with just the two of us. Since we had a sitter anyway. But other than this we probably get out 2x a yr & unless it is our anniversary we always go with other couples.
It's hard with little ones. You have three little little ones at home, give yourself a break. Things will get easier & it will be easier to get out. I am not good with leaving my kids to anyone but my husband & my inlaws & mom are not good at helping. So usually we go out with our friends separately. Which is nice too. Do you get out for girls night at all? Sometimes it is refreshing to just get out ; )
Also, sometimes we will eat dinner after the kids go to bed, have some wine, & listen to music.

Probably every couple of months, usually if we have tickets to a play or comedy act. My sister lives close by, so she's good about coming over to sit for us if we need a night out.
We went out a couple of weeks ago for the night. I really feel it's important to get the time away with my husband.
We try for once a month. My ILs will usually come up a couple times a month and we'll go out to dinner while they play with Rachel. And our daycare has a parents night out that is $25 from 4-9 once a month. We've taken advantage of that 2x and gone out for an early bird dinner and have picked up Rachel by 6:30pm. yep were lame.
I think we've used a "sitter" twice since C was born.. Once last summer when I was dying to see the new Robin Hood movie. Took him over to some friends so he could play with their little girls. Second time was just a few weeks ago.. can't remember why, but the next-door neighbor and her 3 girls watched him for us for a few hours.
We do have a banquet in a few weeks, and concert tickets in March, so I forsee a few more babysitting days ahead. So far, everyone just wants to watch him for us for NO PAY.. which is cool with me!
We continued our weekly datenight every Wednesday. We leave after Sarah is asleep at around 8 and the Au Pair is in the house guarding the baby monitor. That way, I don't miss time with her and we get to continue our adult activities. It works out great for us.
HAHAHAHHAHAHAHA! That would be a "never."
Actually, I think we did go out once, back when we were in France, and left the baby with Rom's sister. Margaux reportedly cried the whole time we were gone.
Occassionally, after Robby goes to bed, Heather will be in charge and Mike and I will go to Costco by ourselves. Does that count?
We have such an exciting life. LOL

But you have to get up at a really early time...I usually get up at 7:30, Sarah sleeps until 8 most days.
My Blog

Three times since Sydney was born.
We are planning on getting out more this summer. Just the two of us AND also going out with friends. We have totally neglected our friends since Sydney! My Mom will watch Sydney whenever we want at night. We just never ask her.

Twice.
And now that we're living with my family, it will be a LONG time before we're able to. I mean who is going to babysit with my parents and brother living in our house? My parents are unable to babysit and my brother is incapable (emotionally).
I made a decision to ask my BFF to watch Aaron occasionally (she'd probably do it) so we can go to dinner alone?perhaps for my birthday in April or our anniversary in June. DH's 40th birthday is in May, but it's going to be a kid-friendly, family affair.

We have a sitter who comes once a week, so, once a week.
But this is fairly new. We went huge, huge periods of time with no 'dates' just for us.
Three times in a year. Our anniversary, my birthday and last week for the anniversary of our first date.
Truthfully though, we have so much fun doing things with L that we could go out more alone, but like bringing him along....
This...my sisters are in the area so they've babysat a handful of times.
