I went in this morning for another monitoring appointment. My doctor came into the room with me when I was getting the ultrasound done (which I think he was doing for everyone this morning so I don't think he was concerned or particularly interested in how I was doing specifically). It was nice to have him to talk to but he was talking to me and I have no idea how many or how big the follicles that the tech measured were. I usually look when she brings the screen up and make a mental note of it. That frustrates me to no end! I could have asked my nurse but I'm going in again tomorrow morning so I figured I can wait. I do know I had a bunch of follicles on the right and a few on the left.
SO my question is, my estrogen jumped from 280 to 1,011 (Sunday to Tuesday). This morning my doctor was saying that with PCOS we're walking a fine line of getting a lot of follicles but not so many that I get sick (OHSS). He knew my estrogen would jump up and wasn't too concerned and he's dropping my dosage slightly tonight. My question is, is that jump ok or too much?
Thanks:)
Re: Monitoring update (kinda) and question
Decreasing the stim will help with tomorrow's levels. And I'm sure he is looking at maturing the most follies. Just keep yourself informed, and let them know how you're feeling, weigth yourself and follow their directions.
I was told to stay hydrated and drink plenty of water to avoid OHSS whit very low stims. Did you use injectibles before?

FYI, there is a formula to predict e2 level according to follies size and count but really it comes down to your RE's knowledge and how handles your response.
I would ask him about increasing water intake vs. Gatorade and high protein tomorrow. Good luck, I hope your growing nice mature eggs.
