38-40+weekers--Do you still drive?

This may sound stupid, but I'm already feeling uncomfortable driving--I was just wondering yesterday if I will be able to drive the whole time or not?

I'm sure I'll defintely want to be driving less of course, but have any of you just stopped b/c it's too uncomfortable or you are nervous about it??

Re: 38-40+weekers--Do you still drive?

  • I'm still driving and I don't see myself stopping before the baby is born.
  • 41 weeks tomorrow with a 2 year old still drivin miss daisy :P
  • I drove myself to the hospital the day I was admitted and to the Dr. in another state once a week until 39.5 weeks.

I will work until the day before my c-section.

    No problem.

  • I still do, not very much though.  Reversing out of a parking spot has become a pain in the arse.

  • Yes, I still drive.  The only time it is bad in on my day when I drive 2 hrs to work each way.

  • I've been uncomfortable since July/August so DH does most of the driving.  I do still drive occasionally.  Sometimes I have to take my sister to school, or MIL and I went to the mall on Fri and I drove.  I don't do it often, maybe once every week or two.  I'm not nervous, just uncomfortable.
  • Yup, still driving.  If I were to go into labor while I was out somewhere, I'd call DH, my Mom or sister to drive me home or to the hospital.

  • I will be working from home my last 2 weeks so I don't have to worry about my commute anymore, but I still intend on driving locally as the need arises.
  • I'm not 38 wks yet, but I hate driving.  I feel so awkward turning my torso, especially when looking behind me to back out of parking spots.  DH and I carpool to work, so thankfully I don't have to drive very often.
  • definitely still driving and can't see myself stopping unless i'm in labor.
  • I'm still driving. Even over mountains almost everyday. Today is my last day at work though so DH will be driving me to the hospital in the morning for my induction.
  • Good call, parallel parking is not as easy anymore b/c it's harder to turn my body.
  • im still driving comfortably.

  • Thankfully I am very tall so my belly isn't quite at the steering wheel yet so I can still drive.  If baby keeps growing though it may start to get uncomfortable.

  • I hadn't considered not driving, though last night when DH and I went out I was soooo uncomfortable while driving.

Luckily I take public trans. to work, so really, the only place I'll be driving to over the next few weeks is the dr. office.

  • Of course I'm still driving. This seems awfully silly to me.
  • Yeah, I'm still driving.  It's not uncomfortable for me in the least and I also am planning on working until the end.

LOL...DH laughed at me the other day when I told him to help me eye out for cars while I was backing out of the drive way.  Driving has become uncomfortable but, I have managed with leaning the seat back more.

  • Of course!  I can't imagine not being able to drive!
  • Still driving. DS and I are SURELY not just sitting around waiting on baby. We'd both lose our MINDS!! :)
