If I just ate the recommended serving size I'd be starving until lunch. Actually as it is, I get hungry about 2-3 hours after breakfast anyway. I probably double or close to triple the serving size.
I can't eat cereal for breakfast- it doesn't fill me up and I'm hungry way too quickly. I ususally have a high-fiber lo-cal muffin & glass of milk for breakfast, then some sort of protein snack mid-morning. Today, it was 2 slices lean deli ham rolled around 1 slice light swiss, plus 4 saltine crackers.

Eek, I try but it doesn't usually work. I had a banana to my cereal in hopes that it makes it look like more and fills me up. I think we're a nation that is just used to overeating so it takes some time for our brains to register that we really are "full" eating less cereal than we're used to.
i'm probably not even close! the only time i follow it is when i eat granola (so tasty but so fatty!). i usually need a snack with some protein not long after i eat cereal. most aren't really made to give you what you need to get going for the day.
I don't consider cereal a meal, but being hungry a few hours after you eat is a good thing. Frequent feeding lends itself to more level insulin secretion, and therefore more consistent energy levels. There's no reason to avoid eating between 'breakfast' and 'lunch' - I tend to eat 6meals daily.
Pre-pregnancy I did. But there are very few cereals out there that will actually fill me up with just one serving size. It took some experimenting. And I expected to have a mid-morning snack rather than making it all the way until lunch on that.
No way! I eat whatever fills the bowl. I will note that cereals such as Cheerios and Rice Krispies have larger size servings, though these may not be the most filling cereals. I love cereal.
Frosted Mini-Wheats and Quaker Oatmeal Squares are pretty filling cereals.

Not a chance, but my husband surprisingly can. He uses a yogurt cup in it instead of milk and adds walnuts. Me? I eat a pregnancy serving size for me and another baby serving size for DD.
Jeez, who knows if I follow the serving size. Probably not! I just full the bowl and eat! Sometimes I even eat 2 bowls. And I'm still hungry between breakfast and lunch! LOL
If your cereal has a good amount protein and fiber (about 5-6 grams each) in it the serving size should be enough...with a mid morning snack (come on we're pregnant!). Though most cereal does not have enough protein or fiber and is mostly sugar (even the ones that seem healthy). Empty calories are no good, makes you feel full then vanishes immediately.
My favorite cereal is Kashi 7 whole grain flakes. They are so crunchy even after they have been in milk for a while, they somehow taste a bit sweet, with very little sugar/serving. Also a dash of cinnamon makes anything taste better, YUM!

Re: cereal serving size....do you follow it?

Nope. no way.
But I don't consider cereal a good breakfast - it is not very balanced and doesn't keep me full at all. I eat cereal as a snack or dessert.

LOL
I do but I have a 6 ounce stomach from a gastric bypass 6 years ago
We do exist, we're just not natural!
I did before pregnancy. Now? No way! Sometimes I have two bowls.
