can you bend over?

I've noticed over the last two weeks or so that I have a lot of trouble bending over to tie my shoes.  I usually wear slip-ons, so it's not always an issue.  But last night, I was putting on my sneakers (sitting on a chair, not standing and bending), and it HURT!  Does anybody else have this issue?  Any ideas or tips?

Re: can you bend over?

  • I can do it but not comfortably.... i hate having to dry my legs or put lotion on them after a shower because it just feels weird.... I have no tips for you. I will be lurking to find some myself!

  • No bending over here. Lots of squatting.

  • bending over pregnant or not was a pain because of sinus pressure.  I tie my shoes by putting my right ankle over my left knee (if I'm sitting) and doing it sideways.
  • LOL

I have to make an admission here... I tried to bend over Sunday to pick up a bottle of water that found it's way to the floor, while down there i went to reach for something i saw under the sofa and wound up faceplanting on the hard wood floor.

My husband first said "did i just see what i thought i saw" as i sat there on the floor laughing at myself uncontrollably.

Center of gravity is well off balance, I don't recommend bending over :)

  • I've been having some trouble bending over lately.   I kind of have to bend to the side because the belly is in the way.

  • I can still bend over, but it puts a lot of preasure on Baby Girl and she kicks me till I stand back up. Same for when I put on my shoes.

Plus my heartburn is so bad, I don't want to bend over at all!!

  • I can bend over but it feels awkward. Feels like I'm putting too much pressure on the baby. I noticed in the shower this morning shaving my legs the usual way is starting to get uncomfortable.

  • You poor girls. :(  If I could give you a couple inches of my height I would.  This baby has lots of room in my long torso so it's not uncomfortable to bend and touch my toes or grab the backs of my ankles...yet. ;)
  • I can still bend over without issues, but it definitely got harder for me later in the pregnancy last time.

That is a good tip. Thanks!

I've been struggling with putting pants on while getting dressed. I'm used to lifting my legs directly in front of me. I now have to lift them to the side and it makes me feel like a frog, lol.

  • I have to spread my feet wider than shoulder width to bend over fully.

  • So uncomfortable.  I have DH put on my shoes if he's home :)  hahaha

    This.
I tried to tie my shoes sitting on the floor after my dinner today.... Not such a good idea. DH had to help me up.  Not to mention the fact that I sounded like a cow in labor just trying to get my shoes tied!

  • I haven't run into any trouble yet. But I don't have much of a bump either.

  • It hasn't been easy for me to bend over for weeks!  I've found than when putting on shoes it's easiest when I sit on the bed or couch and rest my ankle on my opposite knee.  This way my foot gets closer to my hands so I don't have to bend down!
  • Thank God other people are experiencing this! DH was making fun of me! I have a hard time putting my socks and shoes on for work. I usually do the ankle on the opposite knee for my socks, but shoes I will sit on the floor and roll over to stand up. If DH is home, I will make him help me up. Can't imagine what is going to happen in 10 weeks! I'm hoping for flip-flop weather then! Big Smile
  • I can bend over and touch my toes when standing (although I can't see my feet anymore Smile) But, it is becoming increasingly difficult to put shoes on when sitting.  I try to lean against my bed and put them on while standing, I've found that is easiest at this point.  Thank goodness sandal season is almost here in Vegas!

This! Plus I hurt my back last week and for a few days I couldn't bend without a back spasm, so DH had to put my socks on. He is really bad at dressing people, and I am an adult who was cooperating and holding still. Can't wait to see how he does dressing a wiggly newborn!

  • I do a lot more sitting down (pants, undies, socks, etc.)  My sweet DH had to shave my legs the other day, though. Wink  I have to say, it was a darn close shave!
