TTC anxiety, how to manage?

So, hubby and I have just started ttc. I feel like my mind has been taken over by aliens.  I can not stop thinking about what could be.

I know this process can take some time, so I'm looking for any advice on keeping my sanity throughout the process. I know that stress can have a negative impact on my body.  How do I remain stress free?

Thanks!

Can't figure out the signature thing, so here's the short, short version.....first daughter born on November 10, 2013. She was conceived through the magic of IVF after 2+ years of TTC.

Re: TTC anxiety, how to manage?

  • It took us 9 months to get pregnant, and I was the same way you were for much of my time TTC.  I had things I wanted to do career wise that I was putting off because "if I get pregnant," it won't work out, etc etc.  Finally, I just said enough is enough. I can't put things off because of TTC any longer.  As luck would have it, I got pregnant that same month.  Not sure I have any advice on how to handle it, or what it was that finally made me change my attitude. I will urge you not to put things off and just keep living your life.  It can be frustrating at times, so you just gotta keep going.  GL!

  • Have you read "Taking Charge of your Fertility"?  I found it to be a really good resource.  Charting my cycles also made me feel much more in control.  You can use fertilityfriend.com to chart online. GL!
  • Take a deep breath and listen to your body.If you periods are on time and like clockwork start tracking them to find your most fertile window.

You can get affordable ovulation and pregnancy tests on Ebay in  monster packages... when you are close to ovulation do the deed every 2 days and I recommend giving his swimmers a leg up by elevating your behind (with a pillow for example) for a while after afforementioned deed is done! Embarrassed

Remember anxiety is not making the process any easier so just say a little prayer and hope for the best...

This has worked for us twice and we didn't try to conceive as much as set the ideal date to conceive...

  • it took us 6 months to get pregnant and I have PCOS. I was the same way though. At first I said we'll just stop using protection and "see what happens" and after cycle 1 I think I became obsessed.

BTW I live in Quincy too :)

I can recommend OB's, DCP's you name it.
