Baking/Cooking on the snow day?

Hi ladies, I am home today! I want to make something yummy and I don't plan on leaving the house so it can bake or cook all day, which is rare in my house because I am always on the go. What are you cooking today? I need some inspiration.

I love allrecipes.com for inspiration. There's even the option of putting in what ingredients you have and searching for recipes based on that.

I was thinking about baking some delicious homemade bread. Maybe some cinnamon raisin bread with lots of raisins. Apparently my iron is low so I need to up it. Raisins it is. Oh and I could make some raisin oatmeal cookies too! We have a nice snow/ice day here. Even DH doesn't have school because of it. Its not often a college will close for the whole day.

I'm making my own version of cake balls. One box cake mix- baked. After it cools I'm going to mix with one cup of peanut butter, form into balls and cover in melted chocolate!

I'm so sad! I can't find a good recipe for cinnamon raisin bread. They are all too big and can't be halfed or they have terrible reviews. Does anyone have a really good one? Maybe I'll do cinnamon rolls or just stick to oatmeal raisin cookies.

I am making lasagna with italian sausage today! You could try the kraft website...they have a section where you can put ingredients that you already have at the house in...and it pulls up all sorts of recipes.

I actually just made some sugar cookies! With the help of the Betty Crocker mix of course hahaha. I am letting them sit and then I am totally frosting some of them and eating them. Tomorrow which is going to be our huge snow day here, I am making chili in the crock pot and grilled cheese sandwiches. I made baked potato soup on Saturday when it was snowy here as well.

I might get slammed for this..... but you are all making me a bit jealous. AZ has no site of snow in the forecast and I am DYING to coop up in the house and bake/cook/rest for a day.

Oh my goodness that all sounds so yummy. I made chili last week so I don't have all the ingredients necessary but that baked potato soup may have to make an appearance at my house tonight.
