Raleigh Baby Classes?

I'm a SAHM and my husband has been working pretty much around the clock for the past several months. He's scheduled to be out of town again next week, after being gone most of this month already. I am starting to get down about spending so much time alone with the baby, so I was thinking about signing up for a class where I could hang out with other moms. Or maybe there's a social group that I could join? I really don't know where to look. Do any of you have any ideas or recommendations for something I might look into in the Triangle? I live in North Raleigh, but would be glad to drive anywhere in the area.

WakeMed has a series of baby classes, I think they are called Baby Steps? You can also try the libraries for Baby Rhyme Time. Try joining Triangle Mommies too! Our board has a SAHM group that gets together a few times a month, keep hanging around here and get to know us!

Awesome, thank you!! I submitted a registration to Triangle Mommies, so hopefully I can become involved with that. I also looked up the Baby Rhyme Time, but it looks like I may have just missed it. Is it just at the Green Road location? Sounds like fun and something I'd definitely like to check out in the future! I really appreciate the suggestions!

go to the wake county public libraries page and find the library that is closest to you and they should have a listing of the events they have. most of the libraries have programs!

Where in N. Raleigh do you live? North Regional Library does things too. There is a group on this board that gets together for playdates too. Raleigh Parks and rec does swim lessons for children 6 months + which is fun and then there is also My Gym and Little Gym around here too.

You guys are great! I really appreciate the help. I found a class at the Cameron Village Library next week and I'll check into the North Regional Library as well. We live near Crabtree.

I've also been thinking about swimming lessons, so thanks for the info on that!

I'm always up for joining a playgroup! It would be fun to meet you all! Let me know if there is one coming up. I would love to join!

Smart Momma's has free baby & mom classes I think next week if you want to check them out. They're more West Raleigh (hwy 70 near CarMax) but close enough if you know back roads

was going to suggest this. I live almost within walking distance so I was thinking of taking some classes during their demo week next week.

In addition to all the stuff that's been said, there's a Gymboree Play and Learn off Lead Mine and Sawmill Rd. We go there & really enjoy the classes. It's been a great way to meet other parents/kids almost exactly my child's age, and gives us something do to when we're needing to get out GL!

Oh, and Little Gym and Gymboree all let you do a free class, so you could just do that for something to do & see if you like the vibe!
