color my hair

i know this question is asked alot but can i dye my hair wit box dye from walmart

Re: color my hair

  • My OB said that semi-permanent hair color is perfectly safe for pregnant women, so if it's semi-perm, then you should be okay...but ask your doc before since they know your current medical status with the baby. Since you want to do your own hair color, I'd also recommend that you try your best to not applly directly to the scalp if possible. Hope this helps!

  • In a well ventilated area with gloves on... yes

Otherwise, hairdressers would have some seriously messed up kids....

Yes I dyed my hair with DD in second tri..Only the guys at work hassled me on it..The women understand ;)

  • It is perfectly fine in a well ventilated area. I am a stylist too if this makes you any more confident. It can go on the scalp also. What I would advise is not to use box color but that's a whole other thing. Wink

    Yes

  • I would only have a professional do it, and I'd go with an Aveda color.  Much less toxic, more organically based ingredients.

A lot of people are actually allergic to Aveda color. This is probably not the time to experiment. But yay for having a pro do it! :)

  • I've done mine twice now this pregnancy, and plan to do it again before the baby arrives. I use the same products I did pre-pg. My doctor is fine with this.

I've had great results from at-home box permanent colour. It's not rocket science. I just want to cover my greys.
