I am trying to get into baby mode. I am not having any type of shower so I have to buy everything myself! We don't need much but I want to "upgrade" my swing. I have the FP Rainforest one and I really don't love it. I want the "My Little Lamb" one and I've seen it on CL for cheap. Does anyone have that one or another soft/padded/papasan type swing they would suggest?

Just because you can also plug it in (instead of just running off batteries)...we ran out often, but we used it A LOT when DD was little!
I wanted the Starlight swing SO badly for DS! The plug-in feature is AWESOME. I was given the Fisher Price Nature's Touch Papasan swing - free - by a friend. It was okay, but not my favorite. If I have the extra $$ this time, I'm gonna go for one of the starlight models.
Mine is similar to this. It was a hand me down from my brother and DS loves it. You can plug in your ipod, it's got 6 different speeds, vibrate feature and a bunch of different nature sounds/heart sound/slow music/fast music options. I found out on Wednesday (Thanks to Ashley!) that you can snap your graco snugride in there instead of the swing chair. The activity lap contraption thingy with the mirror and the rolly thing (i have no idea what its called) really keeps DS busy in the mornings while I eat breakfast.
We have the Little Lamb and it has been perfect for our needs so far. I was worried at first that it was too plain, the colors too muted, but for the most part, he's used it for sleeping/napping anyway. It seems SO comfy. I also thought I wanted one that was a plug in, but in 5 months, we only recently changed the batteries for the first time, and we used to have it going all the time. I also like that you can swivel the seat so he faces either direction.
DS uses the rainforest one at daycare. It is very busy, and I think he likes that too.
We borrowed a Graco one with Camryn and got the My Little Lamb with Caylee. It was so much better. She slept in in the first 4 months. I sold mine on Craigslist. If you are comfortable with a used swing, you can probably find one on there.
Re: Swing Question/Recs?
We have the little lamb swing and loved it for DD, the only better swing I could think of is this one:

I think whenever we have another one I want to get one like MelBee's cuz its a different motion then a regular swing!
