night owl for a baby!!!! He doesn't even really cry so I can't complain. (nurses said that the cry reflex comes at about 37 weeks so enjoy it while it lasts) but he is wide awake from about 1am until about 4am. Since I am pumping, I get up with him at the 1am feeding, get him settled, then pump and before I know it, he is ready to eat again.
On the plus side, dh lets me go back to bed and is now getting our 7 year old off to school and getting out 4 year old breakfast while I sleep in
Re: I have a...
This may be a foolish question (so sorry in advance), but why are you pumping already? I was informed not to start pumping until 3-4 weeks, as you don't want to introduce bottles/other nipples until then anyway...
Regardless, I hope you're able to enjoy those sleepless moments and hope they dwindle quickly!
My son was 5 weeks early and spent the first 48 hours on a ventilator and he was not actually able to take bottle or breast for about 5 days after he was born. He was getting formula in a tube through his nose until my milk came in. Since he was not able to take the breast, I had to pump so that my milk would actually come in. And they had him bottle feeding my breast milk at the hospital because it was easier. I have just gotten used to pumping and him taking the bottle that we have kept it up. Hubby is happy with it too so that he can feed as well.
And thanks for the well wishes!
