Cute Idea to Announce What You're Having

Out with friends this weekend I heard this and thought it was a fun idea. Judging by the look on my mom's face when I told her that only DH and I would be in the room when we find out if we're having a boy or a girl, I hope that this will make up for it!

After we find out - go to a bakery and have the filling made to be blue or pink, have the family over for dinner and afterward present the cake. Everyone will find out at the same time when we/they cut into the cake.

    we did the cake thing. We bought white cake and dyed it blue so when we cut into it, everyone knew what we were having. it was fun!

    i was wondering!!!  i thought....seems like a lot of work to get a cake after baby's born just to tell family - wouldn't they be at the hospital? way to torture your mom! hahaha

    makes more sense when i see she's only 12 weeks! great idea though - i think it's very cute
