I hope some of you ladies can help me here! For the past 3-4days, DS has been "playing" with alot of his bottles. Most of the time he will take maybe half of the milk but will refuse the rest. He gets both all breastmilk, and then also a mix of BM/formula in his bottles and he will do it with both. He also seems to BF for shorter periods too. He just got his first 2 bottom teeth and dont see any more quite on the way. Is this type of "strike" common? Should I try milk in a sippy instead? He LOVES my cups. Does he need more solids (although it was my understanding solids arent for nutrition, just for experimentation). He currently gets a fruit/oatmeal in the morning and veggie at night. I want to add a lunch in there sometime anyways.
Any thoughts? TIA!
Re: All of a sudden refusing a bottle?
When Aubrey started chewing on the nipple, I moved her up to Level 2 nipples. I didn't want to move up again until after I weaned her at 7 months. She's on Level 3 now and doing SO much better. She also gets 5 oz in a sippy with a snack (puffs/ mum mums/ or 1/2 a thing of yogurt) for her 3 o'clock feeding. She also loves her sippy. I have a feeling she's going to be very independent... tear!
Might want to have his ears checked. Mine started out this way, and then he just stopped eating altogether. We just went to the doc last night because I was worried...and sure enough...ear infection. Aside from the eating thing, he was his usual playful, chattering self though, so I would have never thought that...
Hhmmm, good call with the ear infection! I will keep an eye out and take him to get checked if it doesnt improve at all, or seems to get worse.
He is on level 2 nipples now, but am scared to go up to level 3 because it would be so fast compared to how he gets milk out of the breast. hhmm.
