Midwifes in Cincinnati?

I'm not currently expecting a baby but I do expect to be expecting in the next year or so and I just watched The Business of Being Born documentary and now my interest is peaked in what is offered in Cincinnati in the way of midwives.

Did anyone use a midwife for their natural birth?  Does your midwife have a website?

I'd love to see.  And you are welcome to share your midwife experience!  I'm seriously thinking about how strong women are and starting to think that I might be stronger (and tougher) than I think I am when it comes to giving birth.  Thanks!

I use the Tri Health Nurse Midwives. I chose to have an epi, but they are supportive of whatever choices you want to make. They are great!

I second Trihealth, although they didn't seem so different than any ob I'd been to for reg gyno stuff. I was hoping they would be conservative with the interventions and that is why I chose a midwife.

I've learned that there are many ob's that use the philosophy's shared in that movie. Check out the Family Enrichment Center for more resources.

Thank you.  I looked into where I currently go at Christ Hospital and I think I will check out their birthing center, too, and see if they might have what I need already.  They do have facilities for water births and other therapies there for pain management.

    Thanks everyone.

I also went with Tri-health and absolutely loved them. They were wonderful and fully supported a natural, med-free birth. Although for me, after 54 hours of back labor, the last 2 on pit, I opted to get an epi, and didn't feel judged by them either, which was important to me.

I have a great Midwife, but as its kinda a persecuted art in this area I don't give out her info online. We are planning a homebirth this July and she has been great so far. There are several in northern KY and Cinti. I found my midwife at the Cincinnati Homebirth Group. We meet once a month and share info. Its really wonderful talking with like minded ppl there and getting ideas about what to expect.

I'm using Seven Hills Women's Health midwives https://www.womenshealthcenters.com/index.html who deliver at Mercy Anderson. They have been very supportive of my natural birth plan and I have also hired a doula. However, I was dead set on having a midwife and didn't think about OBs who follow the midwife model of care. If I had it to do all over again, I would seriously look at Dr. Bowen https://www.danielbowenmd.com/. Also, I haven't delievered yet so I'm not the best resource. GL!
