I got my BFP's last week. I had a short luteal phase and I am wondering if I should request pregesterone testing. Anybody with experience with this? Any advice?
My OB won't do progesterone testing unless patients have had at least 2 or 3 m/c or at the first new OB appointment. I think it doesn't hurt to request it, but they still may not check it.

I had a short LP and now a history of ectopic, and they only do it after you have had a loss. A short LP isn't considered abnormal because you still can get pregnant. I did find out (after the fact) that a short LP does put you at an increased risk of miscarriage & ectopic pregnancy. I would ask your doctor.

I have always had a really short LP (no longer than 6 days). For future reference, you can take B6 to lengthen your LP...but in reference to your question, most OBs don't do progesterone specific testing without a history of loss.
