Tell me what your boobs were like post BF

I am down to one feeding per day (first thing in the morning) and I feel like I am rapidly losing my supply so we are almost done. (Sadness...)

Anyway, my question is this: how did your boobs change (or not) after you were done breastfeeding? I tried on some prepregnancy bras and they feel huge to me. Is this normal? I feel very deflated, for lack of a better word. When should I start bra shopping? A few weeks from now so everything can regulate?

  • I'm not sure you want to know;)

They are sad. I was small busted before kids but now they are tiny. And droopy. I had to get smaller, more supportive, padded bras after kids.

  • I actually posted about this a few weeks ago and if I were a more adept person I would search and link it here. But I am not.

Anyway, mine are smaller, too. I am down at least a cup size and band size. Mine aren't totally deflated - not saggy, you know - but definitely less "full." I bought two new bras a few weeks after completely weaning (but a few months after dropping way down) and I'm assuming I won't keep these long. But I was so tired of wearing bras with no underwire and detachable cups.

The consensus from my post, IIRC, is that it takes a few months for things to even out. Some people's got bigger and stayed that way, others got smaller, it's really unique to each person. Which is probably not all that helpful . . .

  • I really really dread this...I've been either pregnant or BFing or both for over 3 yrs now and I have no idea what my new "normal" will be...but I plan to wait 2-3mo after I stop BFing (forever!!) and then splurge on some good bras.

However, I hate underwire and I hope I won't need it!

Pretty much all of this. Before DD1 I was almost a B cup. After BFing two kids, I didn't even fill out my A cups. Sad, sad day. Now that I'm 20w pg again I finally fill out my A cups, but I know by this point with previous pregnancies I was up a cup or two. I'm terrified to see how small they will be after BFing a third time. Can you be concave?? Smile

I remembered that post and of course, was not paying attention! Thanks again.

  • ::Sigh:: Mine are soft and practically concave.  :-(

Nothing a good bra can't fix I suppose, but not pretty without one.

  • Eh, they're a little saggier, but like Agrippa said - nothing a good bra can't fix. That seems to be mitigated by the fact that they're still larger than pre-pregnancy, though. I guess I got lucky in that regard.

  • Ugh, I just had a breakdown relating to this!  I am terrified to see what I will be like after nursing #2.  I honestly don't know how long I will nurse for based on my teaching schedule (pumping at school is a huge pain) and dealing with DD, but I will give it a go.  That being said, I already told DH I'm treating myself to new bras after I wean DS.  But I never got properly sized after weaning DD because I was so depressed at my size.  I was B/C before pregnant, HUGE while pregnant nursing, but probably barely a B after wearning DD.  Boo.

  • I'm another chiming in to say after nursing two, my boobs are tired and they look it.  I wish there was an easy procedure where I could just get em hitched up - no implants or anything fancy.  Just a little pick-me-up.
