Sad day :( (NRBR)

Just found out my great grandma passed away today. She was going to be 100 this year and DH and I made her first name Rowan's middle (Dorothy).

I was soooo excited for a 5 generation photo this summer! I've wanted it since I was young, and thought we were going to get it! I'm more sad about that than I am her passing, simply because 99 is amazing! I won't even be able to attend her funeral because it's on the west coast and I'm broke Sad

Thanks, I just needed to get that out? no one is posting on FB yet because we don't want family finding out that way. And DH is at work and I needed an outlet.

I'm not totally sure, I sent a letter earlier this month so I can only hope she got it and read it or had it read to her.

It will be so special for your daughter to be able to carry on her name though! I'm sure your great grandmother was honored to be able to be a part of your daughter's life in such a huge way!

Sorry about your great grandma. I have a great grandpa that is still living. He will be 92 in March. He was just diagnosed with prostate cancer and they are not going to treat it aggressively due to his age. I really hope that he gets to meet my daughter. She will be the first 5th generation descendant and I just think that will be so special. It is so rare nowadays to have that many generations. Your LO will always have a connection to her even if she never got to meet her.

I'm so sorry! My great-great grandmother passed away at 100 last year. The 5 generation photo was definitely a really unique opportunity that we had. T&Ps!

I'm sorry to hear about your great grandma. My grandma just passed away last week so I can understand what you are going through. My grandma also lived on the west coast and we were unable to fly out there for the funeral.

That's nice that your daughter will have her name for a middle name. That in itself is a special bond that your daughter will share with your great grandma.

So sorry about your great grandmother. My DH's grandmother(a 2nd mother to him) passed away on Wednesday after being in ICU for weeks. We have changed this little girls middle name in her memory.
