I've seen them in the stores and seen I think two people with them since they came out a few years ago. Personally I think you can do a lot better and spend half as much money.
i've heard nothing but great things about it, but it is pretty spendy. we have the quinny buzz system & absolutely love it. it's a little bit more reasonable, but still a little spendy depending on your budget. uppababy vista's supposed to be great too, and a little lighter on the wallet. we're probably going to get that since you can turn it into a double stroller which i wasn't thinking much about the first time around!
I personally wouldn't spend that sort of money, but then again I don't have that sort of money to spend...
On the other hand, my cousin who is prego with #2 originally wanted the Orbit, but went with the UBV and swears by it even though I consider that to be really expensive too...
Just depends on what you're looking for in a stroller and how much you're willing to drop for it...I might find a place that sells them and if they'll let you, test drive it around the store lol then go somewhere else and test a cheaper one... If you don't REALLY notice a difference than I wouldn't purchase the more expensive one...
Also, be realistic when you're thinking about how much time baby will spend in the stroller... If you're really active and will be walking all the time, then maybe spend more, but if you don't think you will use it that much, maybe go with a less expensive one... If the stroller comes with a carseat, then see how long LO will be able to use the car seat...you don't want to spend tons of money for a carseat attachment if in 2 months you will have to purchase a new one anyway... Just my thoughts...
ETA: we went with the Graco Flip It Travel System, my cousin owns the UppaBaby Vista 20somethingsomething... I like mine, she likes hers so I'd say they are both decent...
I decided on the UPPAbaby Vista after comparing tons of strollers. I personally didn't like the Orbit baby after spending time playing around with it. I also thought it was way too expensive compared to many other high end strollers. If you strictly want a travel system, I looked at the Chicco and I didn't hate it. I'm just personally not a huge fan of travel systems because you can only use the infant seat with the full seat still in there so it looks/feels big and bulky. I preferred to make my own travel system, something you can do with the UBV, City Mini, BOB, Bugaboo, and many others.

I also went with the uppababy after much comparasion and i got a 2010 model for only $580 from pishposhbaby.com ..... there are a ton on new jersy craigslist if you want to buy used (or any onlookers to this post are interested)
I ended up getting the baby jogger city select as a replacement for my Orbit. Because it can be a double or single and has so many options for seating.
I have the Orbit G2 system and love it. We also go the bassinet with rocker, 2nd car seat base, and toddler stroller seat. My SIL is pregnant too, and has the same system. My parents and my inlaws bought car seat bases for their car. Yes, it was quite costly....BUT DH and I both have 2 door cars and it is totally worth it to not have to climb in the backseat and wrangle with a car seat. I didn't really look at anything else, because of the 360 rotation so I can't compare. But the system is perfect for me.
Re: Strollers?
Me Me Me! I had one with DD, but since we are joining the 2u2 club we needed something that could be used a double.
I loved it! It is for sure pricey, and the carrier is heavier than a standard one, but I loved it. I seriously shed a tear when I had to sell it!
