So apparently I'm going to get to go to prom! ![]()
My husband is chaperoning and needs a date, so he gets to take a knocked up girl to prom! (Don't know why I think that's so funny!) So by late April it's usually pretty warm here, and I have a feeling I will be pretty big by then, so I'm just thinking about what I'll want to wear!
Any ideas?
Re: Bored? Help me find a prom dress!
I was going to say there's probably not a big market for maternity prom gowns, but then I changed my mind. There probably is, actually.
ETA: What's your budget? I bet there's some cute semi-formals out there. Maybe Ann Taylor Loft?
I don't want to spend a ton, since I'll probably just wear it the one time, you know?
But for now I just want to look at stuff and get ideas, so I'm open. There's a pea in the pod dress I LOVE but I'm not spending $150 on a one-time maternity formal!
I'm 5'4, so I usually have to get things shortened, I'm wondering if there's a possibility I'll be able to just get a flowy non-maternity dress? Or if it will look super funny on me once I'm that big!
I'd be worried about a non-maternity dress getting too short in the front, but I guess if you're getting it hemmed anyway it wouldn't be a problem.
This one from David's Bridal is pretty ("maternity appropriate", not maternity): https://www.davidsbridal.com/Product_Long-chiffon-beaded-gown-21161_Bridal-Party-Features-Maternity-Appropriate
Oh, I really like that one (in Clover)!
This one is always a classic...
