Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

professional pics for Easter

I haven't had DD's pictures done since she was 1 month old. I really want updated professional pics so I decided I would do Easter photos. My question is do you think I should do a fancy Easter dress OR a casual but cute outfit like jeans and a cardigan? DD never wears dresses, so I kind of want to get her a pretty dress to wear, but then again it wouldn't be really "her" KWIM?

Re: professional pics for Easter

  • We did them last year. DD wore a pretty smocked dress and she had her picture taken with live rabbits. They turned out so beautiful. I'm really glad we did them in the dress. They look classic and timeless.

  • Last year (DD was about 9 months), I had her in a tutu and ruffle top and matching bunny hat. The pic was with live bunnies as well. We do pro pics every 3 months the first year, so we had other pics in regular clothes and dressy clothes, so we did something fun for Easter. (not sure if you'd be interested in that)

  • I did think about doing a tutu outfit but I wondered if DD is too old for that now...what do you think? She will be about 17 months by the time I get my tax refund and have her photos done..

  • Butting in....little girls are never too old for tutus! My DD is four and she is sitting right next to me in tights and a huge frou frou frilly tutu. She will wear one every chance she gets.

She has one of those small "warm up" ones that you buy for dance class-it's not poofy, more of a filmy skirt and she slips it over jeans all the time.

I agree with PP... never too old for a tutu! My friend did adorable ones for Halloween with her 18 month old who was a witch. Check out hannahstutus.com (that's where I get DD's) but she has a lot of models than are older toddlers/children. Her daughter is 5 yrs and models a lot of them too.

  • Personally, if I were doing Easter pics I would do them in a fancy dress b/c that says "Easter" to me. However, most of DD's pics have been in nice dresses so I think the next time I get them done I'll do casual.
