Do you RSVP to birthday parties?

Out of my 120 invited guest I only received 20 RSVP's. We are calling and FB'ing (corny I know) to get accurate numbers for food and kiddie stuff.

    yep, i do.

    it sucks you have to call so many people. rsvp'ing is just the polite thing to do!

    Yes, I think it's very rude to just show up. Like you said, you need to know for food and such.

    BFP #1: 6/25/09 EDD 2/13/10 @ 6 weeks- Saw HB @ 9 weeks - DS born 2/11/10 (39w5d)
    BFP #2: 2/20/13 EDD 11/4/13 - Saw HB 3/19/13 (7w2d) - MMC discovered 4/13/13 (10w5d) - Est. loss @ 9w3d - D&C 4/14/13
    BFP #3: 12/19/13 (4 w1d) EDD 8/27/14 - 1/1/14 discovered it was ectopic/ tube had burst/ had surgery to remove tube (@ 6 weeks)
    BFP #4: 9/10/14 (3w6d) EDD 5/21/15 - natural MC 9/23/14 @ 5w5d
    BFP #5: 11/23/14 (3w3d) EDD 8/4/15 - Please be our Rainbow!

    I always do because it's so rude not to. The host has to be able to plan on how many people are coming! We had a woman RSVP yes right when we sent invitations, then said no about 3 weeks later, and then the day before said yes. She ended up not coming! Since it was only 2 adults and 1 -9 month old (and we had WAY over ordered on food) it didn't make a difference, but I was annoyed lol.

    I know how you feel... I now buy costco bulk to go containers... I did this for my baby shower since we had so much food left over and I will do this for his party as well!

    I ALWAYS RSVP for this very reason. Drives me nuts. We still have 2 weeks on our RSVP, but I'm sure I'll be chasing people down. It's so annoying. We even provided an email address, plus said an RSVP on FB is fine. They don't even have to call!!

    I ALWAYS RSVP for this very reason. Drives me nuts. We still have 2 weeks on our RSVP, but I'm sure I'll be chasing people down. It's so annoying. We even provided an email address, plus said an RSVP on FB is fine. They don't even have to call!!  

    We provided an email address and noted that a text would be fine..lol. Are these the lows we have to sink to? Lol.

    I just realized you have 3x as many guests as I do so yeah, I would be pissed if I were you! I guess that's why I get so many E-Vites now, you are forced to at least reply with a maybe

    It's pretty insane. I think we will just do a big party every 5 years and then different child friendly things inbetween that include on grandparents.

    I feel ya, the first birthday should be huge... sadly most of DH's family and a few of mine are in Hawaii and can't fly out at that time... But yeah, it would be tough if even 1/2 of your guests showed up and you accounted for 120. For us it's not too bad to have some extra food.

    No one in my family RSVP's to anything. It is not a concept any of my cousins seem to understand for some reason. I am planning on sending out the invites a month early so I can have time to call them to get a head count.

    I always RSVP. I think it is rude not to respond to an invite.

    I don't really post too often, but this is my biggest pet peeve.  It's just common courtesy to RSVP if you received an invite.  They know you need an accurate count to plan your party.  Unless you say regrets only or something, everyone should take the 30 seconds it takes to RSVP.
