I live in the Kansas City area, and they are prediciting the worst snow storm in 50 years that will last for about three days. Anywhere between 12 and 16 inches, ice and blizzard conditions....I'm due Friday and 30 minutes from the hospital. Neat. Pray that DH doesn't have to end up delivering this baby! Hahaha....but seriously.....
Re: All this snow....great
Our snow plan consists of a sled and a dog...
We just have to cross a big field to get to the hospital tho, but that seriously is our plan. Last thursday we just got a foot of snow, which is not as bad as what you are talking about, but it is always good to have a snow plan!!
That really sucks. I'm sorry. Do you have a 4wd vehicle? I know that having a 4wd Jeep definitely eases my mind of this happending. This is my biggest fear. Last year at the end of February we had a really bad snowstorm and I'm hoping there won't be a repeat performance since I am due at the end of February.
We are suppose to get anywhere from 20 - 30 cm of snow (that's around 12 inches for you American Bumpies!) and ice starting tomorrow lasting through until Thursday morning. The worst part apparently is going to be the wind blowing the stupid white stuff around. I am NOT looking forward to the next three days. Here's hoping LO doesn't decide to make an early appearance!
Yes, we have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, and an all wheel drive vehicle, but sometimes that just means you can maybe get out of the ditch you drove into.
Good luck over the next 3 days ladies! Hope everyone hangs on and can wait out what they are calling "The Groundhog Day Storm" up here!
I love snow, but could do without the ice that is coming with this storm.... be safe everyone!
Come on Sticky baby!!

I live in West MI and we're supposed to get around 10-18" of new snow between tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday night. (Plus it's supposed to be windy, so the snow will blow and drift, which is always great for driving.) I told DH to just watch, I'll go into labor during the worst part of it. (As soon as I found out my due date, I was like great, I'm sure we'll have a blizzard when I need to get to the hospital. The past few years we've had a huge snow storm or blizzard at the beginning of February.) I'm scheduled to have a repeat c-section on 2/8, so I'm hoping DD decides not to come before then.
If she comes on time, we can take my parents' 4x4 suburban to the hospital if need be, since they'll be down to stay with DS. (We have an AWD Chevy Equinox, which is pretty good in the snow, but a big 4x4 is better!)
This is why I wanted another summer baby!
GL - hopefully your LO waits until the storm passes!
I'm in the Chicago area and we are already under a blizzard watch and my suburban area projected to get 18-20 inches! I grew up in Florida, and while I've been here for 7 years, this will be the worst storm I've seen. I'm due on Saturday and have already informed my boss that I will most definitely be working from home on Wednesday. I'm figuring with my luck, though, that will be the day I go into labor.
I am also considering teaching my dog how to pull me in a sled

I thought about this though I'm not due for another 2 1/2 weeks...if worst comes to worst, you could always call an ambulance to come take you to the hospital.
