I did my 3hr a few weeks ago. Wasn't as bad as I thought and they had free wi-fi so I brought my laptop and went on TB and FB the whole time and watched a movie on Netflix. I did the early testing and passed with flying colors. Now I have to do the retest at 28wks and it's the 3hr automatically. Not excited, but as long as baby is okay then I don't mind.
I had to for #1 and I passed the 3 hour. It was pretty bad for me, I passed out in the clinic (it didn't help that they can never find my vein). If you are ok with needles and have good veins it shouldn't be too bad! Just bring something to entertain you! I did my Christmas cards!

With my first child I failed my 1 and passed my 3. Actually, everyone I know failed their 1, and I only know 1 person who failed her 3 (she was significantly overweight).
I believe some statistics I read showed that of the women who fail the 1 hour test, only 4% fail the 3 hour.... pretty good odds of passing So I wouldn't worry too much, but being poked 50 million times isn't fun either...GL!
I just had the 3 hour on Saturday, and it wasnt bad (better than the 1hour). However, I failed it (go figure). I am considered to have GD (even though my numbers weren't much over the acceptable number. I'm struggling with all kinds of emotions about dealing with the diabetes and also with what food choices I need to make.
Good luck! Hope it works out for you! I took my students tests to correct and we surfed the net on our phones while we waited. Definitely take something to do!
