Because why not.
I think it's unfair that you can't get the child tax credit if you income is over 110k. Yeah, if you live in Nebraska or something, that's fine. But when you live in Seattle, LA, or NYC, it's just not friggen fair.
Same with the EITC, although the limit is less. Tax credits should be adjusted for COL or something.
Re: Another tax post
Do you know how complicated it woould be if we adjusted to COL? It would end up costing the gov't more....which in turn would increase taxes. No thank you.
Its one of those things you have to factor when you decide where to live. Yes, you make more money in a big city (generally) but the costs are higher. Such is life.
Next time pick Iowa or something.. boo.
Yeah that's true. But tax time = whiney time for Sassy.
oh I'm cranky this tax season as well. H's old company kind of screwed us over. This would have been our one year ever to get the EITC
it's not the government's job to make sure your income supports your lifestyle. If you live in HCOL you buy a smaller, cheaper house, drive your paid-off car longer, etc. Not wait for a tax credit.
Guess i should have read all the responses first. I get your vent
vegan mama, military wife
I think you are taking it too far in the opposite direction with this comment.
Yeah, I acknowledged above that I posted before reading all the responses. I also didn't see your other tax post before this one. stuff like that is definitely frustrating.
This made me laugh. That sucks...
