DD is out growing her swing and I don't know what else to do with her. ?I really don't want to get up before her or shower when she naps. ?What do you do??
I either section off an area and put him in his walker (we have a small house, no stairs for him to get to) or bring him into the bathroom and set up some toys for him to play with- I couldn't do this until he was a strong sitter.

I avoid any unexpected meltdowns and shower at night! She is so hard to keep entertained and I like to take long showers so I just shower after I put her down for the night!
Just wanted to add that when he's in the room with me, it takes a little longer to shower because he always wants me to play peek-a-boo. It's super cute, but requires me to plan a little extra time in the mornings :-)

I workout and shower while she naps, so I guess that's no help.
I do this too, or I start with him on the bathroom floor in just his diaper with toys to play with. Then when he gets impatient I bring him into the shower with me.
I workout and shower while she naps, so I guess that's no help. Why are you against that? Just curious.
Her naps are so unpredictable and I like to use that time to clean or cook.
As soon as shes out for a nap I grab a shower.. its quick.. and if she fusses some she will be fine. As soon as i get out I listen in the hall and if I hear nothing I dry off.
Also sometimes if she is awake ill bring in her bouncy seat and she plays while im in the shower ( bring it into the bathroom )

If we have a morning outing, I get up before she does and shower then. Mostly, I shower during her morning nap (8:30). If I have to shower when she's awake,I put her in her excersaucer right in front of the bathroom.

My LO doesn't always nap long enough for me to work out AND shower, so usually I put her in her bouncer in the bathroom with me. I tried taking her in the shower with me once and she hated it! I was kind of surprised b/c she likes baths.
I think her bouncer days are numbered, though, b/c she's getting way too big for it. I have put her in the PNP while I showered, but she's not a big fan. I like the bathroom floor idea, but that means I would have to get around to cleaning the bathroom floor!
I put him in his exersaucer right outside the bathroom with the door open (I would bring it in but our bathroom is to narrow) This way I can see/hear him and if he gets bored with his toys I can always play little games and talk with him.
ETA: or I bring him in the shower with me.

I put her in the infant seat, kind of like an infant to toddler seat. I put it just in the doorway to the bathroom, since it's a tiny bathroom. She plays with the toys I hang or that I put on her lap. I shower with the door open. I've been doing this since she was a few weeks old. She is starting to get bored so I will move the exersaucer in the doorway in the near future.
i either take one when she first goes down for a nap or if she is awake, then i put her on the floor right outside the bathroom on a blanket w/ toys. I can see her from my shower stall (glass doors). she isnt crawling yet, so she doesnt really go to far from view. when she is moving, i will put her in the pack n play in the same spot.
I'm a night showerer- always have been. On the weekends, I'll put one in the jumperoo and the other in a pillow fort. There's not much they can get into, and I'm quick.

Usually I get up before DS to take a shower, but if for some reason that doesn't happen, I shower during naps or put him in his crib or wait until he goes to sleep at night, wait until DH is around to watch him, whatever works...
DH and I both shower before work in the mornings. DD2 usually stays sleeping with me while DH showers. Then he usually gets her dressed and puts her in the exersaucer while I shower. (Meanwhile he gets DD1 up and makes the coffee.)

Now that LO has gotten older, he has REALLY mellowed out. I usually shower in the morning. Sometimes DH is awake and can keep an eye on the boys. Other times DH is already asleep (he works nights) and I just make sure LO is fed and changed and leave both boys to hang out in the living room. They are good. They play and stay out of trouble. I probably won't be able to do this when DS#1 learns to crawl and walk. I remember when DS#1 was little, I'd put him in the walker and put him in the bathroom with me. Also, I should mention we live in a very small apartment, so I can easily hear them and be there in about half a second were anything to happen...but like I said, they are good boys and just chill for 5-10 minutes!

I put her in her bouncy seat in the bathroom with me. She is starting to try to wiggle herself out of it, though, so I might end up having to shower while she naps before long. But I so love to have naptime free to do other things (nap myself, clean, etc).

Re: What do you do with LO when you shower?
?

I get up before DS. It's not really a big deal because if he happens to wake up early at least I know he's safe in his crib.
I do this too, or I start with him on the bathroom floor in just his diaper with toys to play with. Then when he gets impatient I bring him into the shower with me.
