Help! Red, Raised, Pimply Diaper Rash?

Is this normal??? DD has never had diaper rash before and this looks ANGRY! I have been slathering her in butt paste and she has been having a huge amount of blowout diapers, but we change her immediately, she never sits in a messy diaper or anything like that.

Do I call the pedi for this or am I being a nut job? Do I remember hearing a teething/diaper rash connection or did I dream that?

    Keep the area clean and dry and go diaper-free for a little while each day.

     

    I also heard that diaper rashes are more common during teething.

    MY DD had a yeast diaper rash that sounds similar and the pedi reccomended OTC lotramin (it's for athlete's foot) and it cleared it up. I would check with pedi before trying that though.

    Are you wiping off the butt cream each time? W were, & dr said not to - instead use the cream and vaseline on top so you are wpining the vaseline, not the cream &b skin, b/c that will irritate the skin more. good luck!

    Thanks ladies. I'm waiting for her pedi to call me back right now. I think since it sounds like it could be more than just diaper rash it's better to take her in.

    It sounds like a yeast infection. Pedi told us to us OTC Lotramin it worked great, we also made sure he got plenty of diaper free time each day.
