Babies: 3 - 6 Months

Those who have survived the wakeful period...

How long did it last? Bitty has been STTN since she was about 4wks old from 8pm-8am (ish) The past couple days she wakes up off and on alllllll night. She isn't hungry, she just wakes up and coos and babbles in her crib, I get up and put the binky back in her mouth and she falls back to sleep for an hour or so, rinse and repeat Hmm.I am so tired and I start a new job on Feb 7th and the shift is 6am-2:30pm, so mommy will be needing her sleep. Any tips for making this time not so awful?

  • No tips other than to just wait it out!  It lasted a good three months for Betsy, but she got over it eventually.  GL!

  • It only lasted a few days for us--pedi nurse told us not to go in there unless she's sick so we didn't go in there--we turned the sound off on the monitor since she's right across the hall.  Nurse said it's normal/developmental and that they don't need us, they need to learn to fall back asleep from being fully awake on their own.
  • No tips, but wanted to let you know I am right there with you.  Although LO never slept more than 3.5 or 4 hours before.
