I am expecting my baby girl in May and am planning to return to work in Sept of 2011. I am new to the Boston area and do not have any family or resources in the area. I am looking to find a part-time nanny/ babby sitter to come to my home. Both my husband and I are pretty freaked out at the thought of someone else caring for our child. I have researched some of the placement agencies and their fees ($2500) seem astronomical! Any suggestions on how to locate a good nanny?

I haven't tried it myself yet.. but am considering it to find an occassional babysitter. But my friend used Sittercity to find two nannies and has been very happy with both. (she needs two due to the times she needs childcare).

i've poked around on the site and like the idea that you can read some info. about the person. good luck.. it's not easy but once you're up and 'running', it will get easier.

My neighbor has a great nanny and I think they found her on SitterCity or CitySitter, however it goes. It must be reputable if other ppl know about it. Good luck.

Check out Care.com or Sittercity.com. I would also look into craigslist.org
