best time to do an iui...

I am wondering if any of you would share when you had your IUI performed if it was successful. We were told by our RE to test using an at home OPK and when we get a positive to call and schedule an IUI for the following day. Is this really the best time to do the insemination? Will that be too late to fertilize my egg? We are using frozen donor sperm. Should we do it on the day of or the day after I ovulate? When did anyone else do it?

This is how our clinic had us do it: We got the positive OPK in the morning and did an IUI that afternoon and another the following morning/afternoon. We were using frozen sperm.

I don't know what they recommend if you are not doing back-to-backs.

I think it is common to do the day after you get a LH Surge (Positive OPK).

The LH Surge indicates that the egg is going to be released and this typically happens within 24-36 hours of surge. These 24-36 hours are when you are most fertile.

Since Frozen Sperm does not last as long as fresh, this increases the chances of sperm meeting egg.

Sorry, our clinic tracked E's cycle pretty closely and we did a trigger shot before the IUI. But good luck!
