  • He eats 6-8 oz of solids and 24-28 oz of formula.

    As far as specifics.

Fruits: prunes, apples, pears, bananas, avocados

Veggies: peas, carrots, lima beans, butternut squash, lentils, sweet potatoes (I am sure I am forgetting some)

For cereal, I give him Happy Bellies Multi grain which has whole oats, amaranth & quinoa.

to try this week are: spinach and maybe bok choy

Oh yeah, and he has tried chicken too. But I am currently repulsed by the smell of chicken, so that's on hold in favor of legumes + whole grains

  • 9 am - 1 oz oatmeal + 1 oz fruit

    noon - 2-4 oz veggie

    5:30 pm - 2-4 oz veggie

We've only done rice cereal, oatmeal, banana, pear, apple, carrot, squash, peas, sweet potatoes and green beans.

I BF usually around 5 or 6 times a day and I think DS gets about 4 oz a time.

  • We did solids twice a day, in the morning and in the afternoon/evening. He'd have 1 veggie, 1 fruit, and some cereal with each. We've been gradually increasing it and now he eats three times a day, though not regularly.

  • Purees: apples, bananas, avocados, carrots, pears, peas, butternut and buttercup squash, corn, mango, kiwi, pumpkin, cherries, apricots, peaches, sweet potato, green beans and prunesWhole/Diced: pears, bananas, avocados, blueberries, carrots (steamed first), mandarin oranges, cantaloupe, peas, prunes, green beans, grapes and kiwiShe also eats sweet potato fries (baked at home), pickles, cheese (she loves brie), melted cheese (usually muenster) on whole wheat toast, bagel and cream cheese, mum mums (or pita) with hummus, pickles (she tried them for the first time last night), yogurt (usually YoBaby or Greek yogurt), sliced roasted turkey (not deli processed, but freshly sliced roasted turkey), Cheerios, puffs, chicken, baby cookies and cottage cheeseFor baby cereal, she has oatmeal, rice, whole wheat and barley mixed with her pureed fruits/veggies She has water in a sippy cup with meals, and occasionally she'll have a splash of juice with her water if she hasn't pooped in a while The only things the pedi said to avoid is uncultured cow's milk (1 year) honey (1 year), eggs (1 year), strawberries (1 year), peanuts (3 years) and shellfish (3 years) She eats 3 meals a day, and she'll have a mix of different things at each meal.  I'd say it adds up to 1/3-1/2 cup of solids (or sometimes purees) each time.
