It's official: The Mickey obsession has gone too far

This morning, DS dug a booger out of his nose and said "There!  I got Mickey out!  Now my nose feels better."

Just now, he pooped and told me that he pushed Mickey out of his butt.

Who knew that a 2.5 year old could create euphemisms?

  • I seriously laughed out loud when I read that - my kids are watching an episode right now!  Funny how they incorporate characters into their real lives - though I've never heard anything quite like what your DS said!  :)  DD is constantly talking about Minnie and Daisy and all the stuff they do together.  We bake cakes for Minnie's birthday at least five times a day.  I realized they are probably considered "imaginary friends" at this point because they exist well beyond the Clubhouse.  We're going to Disney World in a few weeks...it may blow her mind when she sees them in person.

Yeah, Mickey has been an imaginary friend since this past summer, but until today, he was normal.  Now, apparently, he climbs into various orifices and has to be manually removed.  Or something.

We spend many an hour hunting down the Hula Hibiscus.  :)  Sometimes we ride Lightning McQueen to get there.  LOL!

That's awesome that you're going to Disney World!  Does she know yet?  We have decided not to go until DD is old enough to enjoy it too, but part of me is sad that we're missing out on the current Mickey love.

  • She knows - I bought her some Minnie pajamas and we announced it as we gave them to her.  We took her when she was 21 months...way younger than I ever would've considered, but DH's job makes opportunities for "family time" rare, so he wanted to make the most of it.  She remembers bits and pieces from it, but it'll be a whole different experience this time and more rewarding for all of us.  Though I'm dreading the logisitcs of the whole thing...I swore we'd never go back until all of our kids were done with naps, strollers, and diapers.  Yet here we are.  I think it's definitely better to wait a bit.  We introduced MMCH to DD just before our first trip so she was familiar with the characters, and her Mickey love has waxed and waned over the last two years...but it's currently going strong.  So your DS might still be obsessed with him in the future.
