I've had a killer stomach flu over the weekend and have taken the day off work. Today is one of the days the boys go to daycare, so we decided to go ahead and send them and I'd just stay home alone. I feel vaguely weird about this since even though I'm still unwell, I'm not so sick that I couldn't care for them. Mother's guilt, eh?
Anyway, the real confession: minor guilt aside, I am secretly enjoying the hell out of this. I don't think I've been home all by myself for an entire day since the boys have been born. It's kind of awesome.
Re: confession
Some days I dream of that. Don't feel bad AT ALL! Enjoy it!
First of all....feel better!
Second of all.....don't feel bad at ALL! When I had two weeks off work for Christmas break, I still brought Henry to school for two of the days: once so I could go to the doctor and clean a little at home/pack away some of his baby stuff uninterrupted, and the second day was just for me to go to the movies by myself and shopping. I felt incredibly guilty about that second day at first, but then I realized how refreshed I was after that day, and it was soooo good for me!

We took Bella to daycare twice when we weren't working. Once so I could go run errands and have the say to myself. I felt extremely guilty at first but then I was SO refreshed after... it makes us better mothers to get a break every once in awhile!
sorry you are not feeling well... blah to that. But hope you are now well rested!
Hey, if you are paying for it, may as well use it! I usually leave Jack at school on days I get out of work unexpectedly early. Can't say I have ever used it to just do something for ME, but it's still really refreshing to complete errands and clean house without a distraction, or adding time to each stop for the car seat steps.
