My husband and I decided a year ago that this cycle would be when we start trying. However, do to new good circumstances we have put this off to May/June. I know it's for the best but I'm so impatient!!!!
Congrats on deciding to start a family, even if you have to wait a while. It isn't too early to start planning though. You may consider getting off any hormonal bc if you are on it and switch to condoms or other barrier method. I would really recommend that you start charting your basal body temp to get an idea of how your body is working. Check out fertilityfriend.com (see my chart in my siggy), It has a lot of info and lessons that you can start now. Good luck this summer on baby making!!

So you aren't trying to TTC, and have nothing to offer here. Awesome. Hello and Goodbye.
Wow. That was amazingly biitchy.
Fuuck TTC - I'm moving on.
"It's a child, not a cheeto" Thanks mmariluh!
"Ew. I've read all of two posts from you, and you stink like rotting garbage."
Even though you are putting it off, it's not too early to start charting if you haven't already. I wish that I had gotten a handle on what my cycles were like before we started actively trying.

Little Man (4 years old---holy cow) He's the single greatest thing I've done in my life and reminds me daily of how fun (and funny) life can be. He's turned out pretty swell for having such a heartless and evil mother.

Can I recommend the Great Sperm race on you tube also? It helps put conception into perspective, and at a minimum is quite humorous Good luck!

I actually had to wait a year and a half for DH to be ready to try so I know how it feels to be impatient. Wish I had done my research and charted before starting. Get on board with those prenatals, start charting and I hope these few months go quickly for you

I loved the Great Sperm Race, it really opens up your eyes as to how much it takes for conception to occur. Also I went off BCP a few months before I actively started trying. It let me get to know the length of my natural cycle. GL to you!
I started lurking here about 8 months before TTC and started posting about 5 months prior to TTC, so welcome!! You can learn a lot from this board and the people here.
Definitely get off BC ASAP!! I wish I had taken that advice when given to me, but sadly I did not listen. GL to you!!

I know how you feel! DH told me last week he wants to wait awhile before ttc #2, it really bummed me out. And I'm not sure how long "awhile" is, to me it means 2mo to DH...who knows
I agree with lots of the pp's (except agoldman - ewww). Anyway, I would recommend starting the process of getting to know your body now! I did not do that and have some regrets. Go off hormonal BCP's, chart, read TCOYF, etc. You will learn so much and be so much better prepared when you do start actively trying.
Good luck to you. Also, stick around on the boards you will learn so much, it is invaluable!

Thank you for the welcome I actually got off BC in December since originally next week we were going to start trying. The benefit is that now I'll really pay attention to my cycle these next few months.
One question about prenatal vitamins-does anyone take the gummy ones? (They sell it in Target. I'm horrible with swallowing huge pills and would much rather take the chewable ones.

Definitely stop BC. My husband and I decided we wanted to TTC a few months ago so I stopped then. Needless to say 3 months later, we are still TTC because my body has not regulated yet. GL!!

THIS! I wished I quit BC a lot earlier!
Wait, who are you?
And you have so much to offer? Doubt it.
OP-There are things you can do before actively trying to prepare your body...for example start taking your prenatals now!

Welcome, Muppet
BTW There have been many posters here on TTGP who weren't/aren't TTC the whole time they were posting. No biggie.
Well, you'll never make friends with an attitude like this.
Please share your offerings!! I'm curiously interested in how much more awesomely fantastic you are than the OP
I agree with this.
Welcome and good luck
Agree! Welcome. Stick around and you'll be totally prepared when you do start ttc.
