Fried rice with nori

Ooooh, yeah, baby.

Margaux ordinarily won't eat rice.  Back in the day, one of my favorite quick lunches was wrapping up some fried rice in nori and eating it like a burrito.  Just for kicks, I made some fried rice, tore up bits of nori and threw those in there, and gave it to M for lunch.  Oh MAN.  She was practically licking the bowl.

Here is my "recipe" for those who don't have their own go-to fried rice concept:

Make some rice, whatever your favorite is.  Throw some in a wok or pan with a little sesame oil.  Toss in a handful of mixed veggies, frozen, fresh, canned, organic, whatever's easy.   Add some chopped protein stuff, like chopped ham, chopped chicken, chopped tofu, whatever.  Sprinkle a bit of your favorite soy sauce.  Once it's all nice and hot, break an egg or two over it and cook until the egg's done.

Put it in a bowl, and tear some bits of nori and mix it up, or wrap it in a sheet of nori like a burrito.  Serve.

I used:

brown rice

whole foods organic frozen veggie mix

chopped spam (yep, that's right, SPAM)

Kikkoman low sodium soy sauce

sesame/soy oil mix

two large free range eggs

:)
