Recommend your swing

Can you please recommend your swing for your LO? Is there a swing you don't recommend?

Thanks ladies!

Re: Recommend your swing

  • I don't remember what brand we had.  I hadn't planned on buying a swing but after not being able to put my son down to sleep I sent my husband out in the middle of the night and he bought the cheapest one they had and it was perfectly fine :)  It was probably around $50.  It one one of the low to the ground "travel swings" which was a good choice for us because we didn't have the room for a big swing.  I think we used it for less than 3 months so it is definitely something I wouldn't recommend spending a ton of money on (and wouldn't recommend getting one that takes up a lot of space because it is just that much more to store when you're finished with it).

  • We had the FP Rainforest swing.  I loved that it plugged in, and that you could turn the seat to swing either side to side or front to back.  She really liked the mobile on it too, but she was just happier to sit still and stare at the mobile rather than swing.  She hated the bouncer though too, my kid is weird.
  • We were gifted a travel swing and TBH it was perfectly fine.  We didn't get a full sized swing in the end because he seemed perfectly happy with the travel one.  I will be reusing it with Serena but sh's happy to just lounge on her Boppy right now.

  • We have the plug-in gracco luvin' hug.  It's a great swing but I think you MUST get one that plugs in, that's all I wanted!!

  • We were lent from friends a FP papasan swing and a FP ocean wonders travel swing.  For DS #1 all we had was the travel one and it was just fine.  We're using the big papasan one know with DS#2 only b/c we have it to use and the space.  I can't see spending as much as they cost for one though.  I also don't like how it doesn't plug in.

  • Get one that plugs in! We had a battery-operated FP swing and it was the only way Leah would nap for a good couple of months. We went through about a billion D batteries. I sold it when she was done with it and never looked back. I will buy a new one for the next baby and it will definitely plug in!

Ditto most of this exactly (he just insisted on swinging!).  It was very important to me that the swing go side to side or front to back as well as plug in.

We also had the Graco Swing that the car seat sat in.  That was fabulous for traveling because we already had the seat, we just needed the frame.  It was nice to have 2 swings too because DS loved to swing so much that we had one on both floors of the house (one in our computer room, one in our living room)

  • If you can, definitely spring for one that plugs in. My friend gave me her FP papasan swing that took batteries. DH ended up hard-wiring it to allow it to be plugged in since we went through batteries so quick. The swing is now on it's 3rd baby and it's still going strong!
  • We have the FP Papasan Swing in Yellow and Green gingham. (it has the little bee decals on the cushions)

DD loved her swing, and we plan on using it again for DD #2. :)

  • We have the FP my little lamb Papasan Swing.  I really liked it, but I agree with others that if you can find one that plugs in that would be the way to go.  Our swing took 4 "D" batteries and we had to replace them pretty often.  Other than that I have no complaints about our swing.

This is the one we have and Hunter lived in that thing for the 1st 6 months or so--I love the swing but we went through a LOT of batteries so I'm with the pp get one that plugs in if you can!
