Poll: Fav shower gift to give

What's your favorite go-to shower gift now that you are an experienced mother?  I like to give a Costco box of Huggies wipes.  That was one of our fav gifts.  I also like to give the little health kits with thermometer, bulb, nail clippers, etc.

Re: Poll: Fav shower gift to give

  • I almost always do a pamper gift for the mom. Bubble Bath, Foot Scrub, Chocolate, Scented Candles etc.

I'll also get a few books for baby, but I do the main gift for the mom. I realize that's 'not the point' of a baby shower, but it's always been very appreciated! I do the same thing for bridal showers.

  • My favorite gifts...are the ones my Aunt has always given me.  She gets a HUGE gift bag and then fills it up with the small stuff.  All your hygienic care, bath stuff, wipes & diapers(small bags), and of course some clothes, towels and blankets.  It's always a gift that I look forward to opening! lol!

  • I like to give a big box of diapers and wipes, and then a Visa gift card.  I love getting gift cards, so I always try to give them.
  • I buy off mom's registry, usually either health stuff (thermometer, nail clippers, etc) or bath stuff (infant tub, baby wash, lotion).

  • Health stuff, Tylenol, Motrin, Baby Noses, thermometer, Baby Kisses, Butt cream, pedialyte...
  • Well now that I know such a thing exists it would have to be the Pampers gift tub with the diapers and wipes and bottles.

  • I buy a couple of classic children's books (usually Good Night Moon and Make Way for Ducklings) and some stuff for mommy (often a Mommy & Me Aveeno gift basket).

  • A boppy. It has seriously been a lifesaver to me.

I've also now created a care package for mom for after delivery of all the things i wished I'd had either in the hospital or right after that I didn't think of. So far it includes: Lanisoh, stretchy boy cut underwear (regular underwear all rubbed in the exact wrong place), Always Infinity Pads (I found the hospital pads far too bulky and sitting on them put uncomfy pressure on my tear), Tucks Pads (the generic is so inferior imho), reusable cooling pads for your nipples, Mother's Milk Tea, and a box of oatmeal.

I have a shower in two weeks, so I'm pulling this together right now!

  • I like to give a breastfeeding care kit.  If the mom to be has registered for nursing supplies, then I'll buy the ones shes registered for. If not, I like to buy Lansinoh pads and milk storage bags and stuff like that.  Just because it can be an expensive necessity after the baby is born that is just not fun to spend money on.
