Stay at Home Moms

And now for my whine post - I lost my wallet.

Grrr!

I remember getting it out to pay for a couple of things at the grocery store last night.  From there, we stopped by the church for about an hour - they were having a family night.  Then I went home.  When I went to leave this morning, the wallet was missing.  I called the store, I called the church - no one has seen it.  I tore apart the car.  I looked all over the house.

!!!!!!!!!!!Angry

I keep hoping it will turn up somewhere unexpected.

  • I have, however, now found a lost pacifier and a library book which I am sure is over-due.

  • I hope you find it.  I lost my license not long ago and my iphone over Christmas.  Both times, people turned them in.  Thankfully.  I was so happy.  Especially about the iphone.  I was sick to my stomach until I found it again.
  • That sucks.  Do you have snow there?  Do you think it could have fallen out into the snow when you were unloading the grocery bags?  I hope you find it!

I have a crap load of gift cards in my wallet and I keep thinking that I should get a separate change purse to put them in.  I'm pretty vigilant about not leaving my purse open and not leaving it in the cart and walking away/turning my head.  But if someone somehow steals my wallet, I'll deal with having to get a new license and credit cards, but I will be beside myself that all of my gift cards are gone.

I'm going to look myself at church tomorrow, although I pretty much trust that if they say it's not there, it's not there.  I tried calling the store again but they said to call tomorrow - if it is there, it's locked away and the people who have access to it wouldn't be back until the morning.  Crying

No snow here - although that is how we lost (and later found) a set of keys last year!!

I feel like I am so good about keeping a good eye on my purse too!  I remember having it at the check-out at the store, and that is the last I know.  I don't know if I put it back in the purse though.  If I did, there was no way someone could have taken it because I put it in the back of the cart and DS#1 sits in the cart.  It's too hard to get to.  But sometimes I hold onto the wallet, or shove it in next to DS#2 in his infant seat or something after I pay and on our way out.  So that's a maybe. I don't feel as though anyone got close to us.  Could have fallen out maybe.

When we got to church I shoved my purse under a table and a lady who doesn't walk much/well sat down and pretty much blocked it the hour we were there.  When I pulled it out, I heard a "bang" and realized a plastic plate was leaning against it and fell over.  I thought maybe it fell out then. I mean, I suppose whoever put the plate there could have grabbed it, but that is pretty doubtful.  It's a small and open room and if ever my back was turned, it wasn't for long.  Someone would have easily seen and I doubt anyone from there would take it anyway (but anything is possible I suppose).

    Just doesn't make sense.

I'm so paranoid, I even considered someone coming in our apartment and taking it out of my purse, haha.

Sometimes I misplace keys or my phone, and then I realize I laid it down in the area of something else I was bringing in and putting away (like I put my keys on top the fridge when putting away groceries).  Nope.

*Sigh.  I know a girl who works at a tag agency here.  I think I'll call her Monday if it hasn't turned up and figure out how to go about replacing my DL and start the process of replacing the other stuff.

  • Ugh, that is THE worst, having to call/cancel all your bank/CCs and replace a driver's license, that has happened to both DH and I!

I'm so sorry and hope it actually does turn up!  ;)
