S/O going back to work

I am resigning from my job tomorrow. I am actually going to call my supervisor today and let her know. I am sick to my stomach over this. We are going to be tight with just DHs salary but putting them in daycare makes no sense bc it would wipe out my salary almost entirely. Ive always hated my job and the commuting but now that quitting is a reality, it's bittersweet. I'm also nervous about how they are going to react since I was paid since October. I have mixd feelings right now and I am mostly just scared.

  • I hope it all works out for you!  Try not to be scared, you have legit and logical reasons (well, other than just hating your job) to quit.  I'm sure your employer won't be told that you hate the job, lol.

I've been struggling with this decision as well...the boys are growing up so so so fast in DC....  The issue we have is that i contribute exactly 50% of our household income and I still have quite a bit left over after paying for DC.

I'm not exactly the star employee these days either.  I'm almost hoping they'll let me go...

  • You have to do what is best for you and your babies...and your household income.

It makes no sense to have a long commute to a job you hate for no money.  Enjoy being home with your babies!  I think you'll be shocked at how much money you save when you never leave the house ;)

  • sounds like a stressful change. i'm sure you'll love being a SAHM, though. best of luck with the transition!

  • I hope things went well with your call today! I hate my commute too, but like my job. I'm both looking forward to going back yet dreading it too! 3 months old seems so young to leave them. :-(. Glad you were able to make the decision to stay home!!
