I've been having a mix of contractions today. Lots of the normal BH that are just tightening but often I dont even notice. Some are a little uncomfortable and sometimes I have back pain leading up to and after the contraction but it seems almost relieved at the height of the contraction (weird). But the weirdest has been the contractions with lots of downward pressure. It is so much that I feel like I need to sit on the toilet in case I poop (TMI - sometimes a little comes out, sometimes nothing). They arent frequent enough for me to think that I'm in active labor but it is just something new that I havent experienced. And the worst part is that I think it is making my hemmies worse which seemed impossible. My butt is never going to be the same.
Anyway, are these contractions with lots of pressure normal for early labor (which I know can last for weeks)? I was induced with DS so I dont know what to expect.
Re: Contractions with pressure but not pain? TMI
I was worried about the same things with Penny. My water broke with Reed so I knew labour was starting. With her I had contractions a lot leading up to her birth, but nothing that was "real". One night I even had what felt exactly like REAL contractions for about an hour. They were all over the place but very very painful. Right when I was about to call the hospital...they stopped. I never went into labour with Penny in the end. They broke my water when I was 6cms dilated but not in active labour...and she was born an hour and half later. So all of those contractions were probably helping to get me all set!
Good luck! You are so close now...I hope it goes fast...but not TOO fast:)
That's so funny, that is what happened with DS. I just kept dilating but never went into labor. They finally decided to induce me because they were worried that I wouldnt make it to the hospital if my water broke. I dilated to 10 within an hour of breaking my water and starting pitocin. It was so easy but makes me feel like a newbie this time!

dude, you're having a baby tomorrow. I call it.
Good luck and HAVE FUN! ;-)
I woke up with a contraction like that at 4 am on March 26. My boys were born 9 hours later.
Mine got regular and close together right away, so it became obvious I was in "real" labor. I also had some bloody show.
Good luck, get some rest if you can, you might have your little girl in your arms very soon!
Update: Nothing so far today. Boo! We are headed to the car show downtown which is huge and I am planning on walking her out (while shopping for a new car!). I'll probably just make myself uncomfortable but at least I tried.
Today is the day that I had DS so tomorrow will be the most pregnant that I've ever been.
