I am clueless...another fever question

I'm sure you've figured that out by my many recent posts about B's latest tribulations, i.e. ear infection, fever, etc.

So her fever was 101.6, which is low compared to where it was a few days ago.  Gave her motrin and 2 hours later its 100.8.   Would you leave it or start the Tylenol rotation?

  • I may get flamed for this but, I would only give tylenol/motrin if she is uncomfortable. The fever itself (100.8) wouldn't concern me. Her body is doing it's job.

If in doubt, always call your pediatrician though Smile

Mama Bear - no flames here - that was my inclination as well since her mood is totally fine and she does not act to be in any discomfort at all.

  • No flames! I do the same. If their temp is just high and they're not uncomfortable, I leave it. Tylenol can be used with Motrin.. I do this to myself, but so far none of my dk's can take Motrin. Can't hurt to call your Pedi and ask though.

Yeah I'm with this. As long as she seems OK and is eating and whatnot, I tend to just leave her be.

  • I'm right there with the pp - if she's acting ok, don't do it.  Also, I'm not a fan of alternating the meds.  It's so hard though - they say the low grade fevers are OK, but it's just not fun!
  • I agree with pp's and hope she gets better soon!
