So why am I so nervous now...(BFP)

Well I took a cheapie test yesterday and after awhile it looked like a line, but I wasnt' sure b/c it was about 20 mins after.  So I went & bought digital this morning & I got........ PREGNANT.. I'm still shocked & scared now & don't know why.  I guess I'm more shocked then anything b/c after 2 years of trying before & needing assistance to get pregnant the first time what are the odds of us getting pregnant unassisted, just deep down inside I thought it would not happen for me this way.  I'm kinda speachless right now, but also excited.  I'm going to be very causious about taking the next step, just until I'm sure & it's confirmed by doctor.

    Yay! For your BFP! I think being a little nervous and careful is normal. Hang in there and talk to us about it as much as you want while your waiting to be sure. I don't know any exact odds of this but it seems to be a common theme on the nest. For some people it is way easier to get ph the 2nd time. I know for myself my fertile signs have been way stonger after DD. Good luck! And hang in there.

    Congrats!!  Such exciting news!!  Wishing you a H & H 9 months!!!
    TTC since 10/09 Me-43 DH-44 RE and testing 10/10-11/10, Recommending IVF 1/11 New RE AMA and DOR-DH low motility IVF #1.1 cancelled 3/11 due to poor response IVF #1.2 May 2011, one perfect 8-cell embryo, 3dt-BFN, IVF #2.1 Converted to IUI d/t poor response. New RE 9/2011. IVF 2.2 completed using HGH,EPP,DHEA, Q-10 and accupuncture. Transferred one 8-cell, grade one embryo on 10/19. BFP 10/31/11 Chemical pregancy on 11/2/11. Started stims for IVF #3, our final try, on 12-2-11. ET on 12/18. Transferred 3 Grade A embryos-BFFN Planning DE IVF, late March/early April- Donors ER expected to be 4/2-4/4. PAIF/SAIF welcome

    First, CONGRATS!

    SECOND, don't worry about anything until you need to. Don't question good things. I know easier said than done.

    You always hear the stories of people getting pregnant after adopting etc. Some things are just unexplained miracles! Sometimes our crappy bodies work even when we were told they couldn't.

    TTC #1 since 8/1/10; Me:41 and BRCA1+, DH:46
    DOR (FSH 24.3)/ terrible egg quality ; homozygous MTHFR c677t
    5 IUI's: 2/11 to 6/11 and 1/12= BFN
    OE IVF#1-4 8/11-6/12= all BFN
    DE IVF#1 11/12 bad embryos= BFN
    DE IVF #2 2/13 BFP/Beta hell: m/c 5w6d
    CFNBC 7 months, not doing well; decided on guarantee program at RBA w/frozen DE
    DE IVF #3 1/14  ET 4BB; BFP;M/C 5w1d, incomplete m/c; MVA extraction in ER 7w1d

    DE FET#1 ET 3/1714; BFP, beta 1 3/27= 197, beta 2 3/31= 1586, beta 3 4/7= 13879!!
    First u/s= Twins with HBs at 6w2d! We are Team Pink x 2!!

    K & K born 11/21/14 at 38wks 4 days

    Congrats!!!  Wishing you all the best! I had seen this expression on another board and had thought to myself this is what I will say to myself when/if I get a BFP again...Today I am pregnant and I love my baby...Wishing you a H&H 9 months!

    Congrats!!  I'm hoping your body just needed a jump start in reproduction the first go 'round and now it simply knows what to do.  Praying for a happy, healthy 9 months and a lil bean that sticks!

    That happened for us.  It took us IVF to conceive our first son after almost 2 years TTC, and then got 2 natural BFPs.  The first one unfortunately ended in a m/c, but the second gave us baby #2.  It can happen!!!  Enjoy your BFP!  Congrats!
    Baby #1: 19 cycles, failed IUI, and 1 + IVF 3-5-07
    Baby #2: 12 cycles, 1 failed FET, natural miracle but m/c at 9 weeks then another natural miracle that stuck! 9-30-09

    TTC #3 - 4 cycles - no BFP yet!

    Congrats!  I wish you a h&H 9 months.  Now go get yourself some prenatal vitamins and take care of yourself :)  the ladies on pregnant after 35 are wonderful!
